Comedian Chris Rock has a funny bit about the difference between being rich and being wealthy (watch it), pointing out how retired NBA star Shaquille O’Neal is rich, whereas the old dude who signed his checks is wealthy.
That’s kind of where we’re at with former UFC lightweight champion, Conor McGregor, who was bragging on social media about the yacht he plans to construct. Probably because “Notorious” doesn’t want to spend all of his time in that boring Spanish villa.
But as impressive as McGregor’s boat may look (see it here), he will now have to play Quint to Lorenzo Fertitta’s Merrill Stubing, thanks to the $125 million Lonian built for the former Godfather of mixed martial arts (MMA).
Here’s another look (courtesy of Bloody Elbow):
Fertitta and his brother Frank sold UFC to Endeavor (formerly WME | IMG) back in 2016 for more than $4 billion, so it’s not like they can’t afford it. Sure, those checks were signed with the blood of UFC fighters, but who are we to judge?
To the victor belong the spoils!
