Fan favorite female fighter Gina Carano (7-1) made an appearance during Saturday nights broadcast of Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva to announcer her intentions to return to the cage sometime this summer.
Carano, who made her last appearance in August of 2009 against Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos, has been quiet since as far as the mma world is concerned, and recently finished filming the movie “Haywire” with director Steve Soderbergh. The movie will debut in April which will likely see the fighter busy till then promoting the movie.
During last nights Showtime telecast Carano noted “I think I just need to settle the score with myself, I Need to get back in there for me. I just want to walk away from it knowing that I left it all in there, I left it all in the cage.”
Her fight against Santos drew the third highest ratings for a Strikeforce event on Showtime.
Carno is slated to return in late June against an unnamed opponent.
