First there was Drax, then we had Jax, now there’s … BRAX!

I can see the pitch, “It’s like Mortal Kombat, only everyone on Outworld is trained by Rickson Gracie!”

Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage is looking to do to combat sports movies what Ghost Rider did to comic book films. The means to that end is “Jiu Jitsu,” described as a sci-fi martial arts flick that also features Kickboxer lead Alain Moussi.

Hollywood Reporter with the (cough) “plot.”

Based on the comic book of the same name, which Dimitri Logothetis wrote with Jim McGrath, the film features Moussi as a Jiu Jitsu fighter who every six years must face off against an alien invader, Brax. Cage’s character teams up with him in a battle to defeat Brax.

Tag-team jiu-jitsu? I hope it looks like this!

Movies about jiu-jitsu fighters are nothing new, but it’s kind of pointless to focus on the “gentle art” when it involves murderous aliens, who apparently need a six-year training camp to prepare.

I just hope our earthly heroes remember to never back down!
