Diaz: Khabib’s Scared, McGregor Got Beat, Poirier’s A P—sy

I’ve seen a lot of mixed martial arts (MMA) fans come down hard on lightweight slugger Nate Diaz, simple because the puny pride of Stockton hasn’t competed in over two years. Maybe instead of chastising The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 champ, we should be pointing our fingers at the rest of the 155-pound weight class.

It’s pretty obvious why everyone refuses to fight the legendary brawler, who has a perfectly good explanation for every loss in his storied combat sports career, but Diaz was kind enough to remind us on Monday with his latest Instagram post, accompanied by a slick new video.

“Khabib’s hiding scared cause I slapped the shit out of him,” Diaz wrote, referencing the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) melee that went down back in 2015 (watch it). “Conor already got his ass beat twice. Where the fuck you at, Khabib? P.S. Poirier is a pussy.”

Diaz defeated Conor McGregor by submission at UFC 196, then fell by majority decision in their UFC 202 do-over, a fight close enough to warrant a “special” rubber match. As for Dustin Poirier, he was supposed to fight Diaz late last year, but an untimely injury bounced him from the event.

“I’m not interested in making a Nate Diaz fight until Diaz is just dying to fight,” UFC President Dana White told ESPN last October. “We’ll offer him fights, we always offer him fights. We probably offered this kid 50 fights since he fought Conor. When he’s ready to fight, he’ll let us know.”

Poirier is fighting Max Holloway for the interim lightweight title at UFC 236, while McGregor is on suspension until early next month. As for Nurmagomedov, there are no plans to have him fight until November, so I’m not sure what to make of the above Instagram post.

I guess retirement is boring.
