Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight fan favorite, Mike Perry, has replaced Jingliang Li and will battle Alex Oliveira at the upcoming UFC on ESPN 3 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, scheduled for Sat., April 27, 2019 inside BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida, with “Prelims” on ESPN+.
That’s according to a report from ESPN.
Perry (12-4) is looking to bounce back from his submission loss to Donald Cerrone at the UFC Denver event last November. It was “Platinum’s” third defeat in just four fights, a troubling sign after jumping out to a 4-1 start to his UFC career.
As for Oliveira (19-6-1, 2 NC), he’s also hoping to erase the memory of a submission loss from his last time out, having succumbed to Gunnar Nelson at UFC 231 in December. Prior to the “Gunni” misstep, “Cowboy” captured four of his last five.
UFC on ESPN 3 will be headlined by the middleweight showdown pitting Yoel Romero opposite Ronaldo Souza. Elsewhere on the card, Greg Hardy makes his heavyweight return against the unheralded Dmitrii Smoliakov.
