‘Hick Diaz’ faces the toughest challenge ever when he dares to challenge an unstoppable force. Are you ready to be a witness?
Violence is upon us once again, as Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship returns live from Biloxi, MS this weekend. As you may have undoubtedly heard by now, former UFC fighter Jason Knight faces short-limbed wünderkind and chaotic demigod Artem Lobov in strictly hand-to-hand combat.
Sure, there’s been quite a lot to digest in the lead-up to this, such as the financial incentives for both fighters in a post-UFC situation, as well as some of the extra-curricular shenanigans that have taken place so far. To put it quite bluntly, the fight itself is here as a placeholder and opportunity to make some money for now, with Artem fighting former boxer-boxer Paulie Malignaggi. Regardless, these events have delivered on both action and unexpected chaos, so Lobov will have to contend with a very tough test against another tough and gritty fighter like Jason Knight.
Former Invicta fighter Christine Ferea brings her aggression and precision power punches in a title fight against Britain Hart, who previously lost a split decision against Bec Rawlings. Former UFC fighter Chris Leben takes on fellow MMA fighter Justin Baesman, and it goes down at 205lbs.
Remember Johnny Bedford? The tough-as-nails Texan makes his foray into the bare knuckle scene as he fights Abdiel Velasquez, and one-time RIZIN competitor Sheena Brandenburg is scheduled to face Louisiana’s own Ivana Coleman. Former Strikeforce and UFC talent Isaac Vallie-Flagg will also be on this card, meeting Randy Hedderick at 165lbs.
Finally, perhaps it’s time you got acquainted with Sam Shewmaker. The Missouri native is known as the Hillbilly Hammer in some circles, and he did what could in some municipalities be considered a crime to former Bellator fighter Eric Prindle. Shewmaker’s making a name for himself out here, and he’s looking to rack up another win against another MMA vet in former UFC fighter Chase Sherman. Sherman’s racked up back to back wins in MMA after his UFC release, but will be facing a very different kind of test here.
