Anderson Silva will look to get back into the win column when he faces off against Jared Cannonier at the upcoming UFC 237 pay-per-view (PPV) event on May 11, 2019 inside Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Before then, “The Spider” showed off some of his best moves earlier today (April 17, 2019) by working out for the media inside Cesario Bezerra Boxing Club in Rio de Janeiro to promote the fight, and MMA Fighting was there to capture all the action.
Silva was last seen coming up short to current UFC interim Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya a few months ago at UFC 234 (see the highlights here). Over his last seven outings inside the Octagon, Anderson has dropped five with one no contest sandwiched in between.
While the matchup against Cannonier seems odd at this point in Anderson’s career, Jared is more than capable, as evidenced by his knockout victory over David Branch in his last outing.
UFC 237 will feature a women’s Strawweight title fight between division champion Rose Namajunas and Jessica Andrade. In the co-main event, Jose Aldo will take on Alexander Volkanovski.
