According to BoxingScene.com light-middleweight boxer John Jackson, 30, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on various sexual offenses. Jackson is the son of former WBA super welterweight and WBC middleweight champion, and Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, Julian Jackson.

United States Attorney Gretchen Shappert announced this week that the charges Jackson was indicted for include two counts of production of child pornography, three counts of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, one count of first-degree rape, and three counts of second-degree aggravated rape.

In a press release, Shappert expressed that an indictment is not evidence of guilt and that every defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The press release also stated that the indictment stems from accusations that Jackson allegedly engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old. Jackson is also alleged to have produced images related to that activity.

The charges against Jackson, who is from the U.S. Virgin Islands, is currently being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Virgin Islands Police Department. If convicted he could face a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.

Jackson has a professional record of 21-4 (16 KOs). His most recent contest was versus Eric Walker on May 28th, 2018. Jackson’s most high profile fight came versus Jermell Charlo for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title in 2016. Jackson lost that bout via an eighth round TKO.
