A pivotal strawweight bout is headed to Las Vegas in July.
Claudia Gadelha will look to bounce back at this summer’s International Fight Week.
The UFC strawweight contender is expected to meet Randa Markos at UFC 239 on July 6 in Las Vegas, ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported Tuesday night. Per the report, the bout has been verbally agreed to; contracts have not yet been signed.
Most recently, Gadelha fell to Nina Ansaroff by decision last December at UFC 231. The former title challenger is 1-2 in her last three bouts.
Markos is coming off a submission win last month over Angela Hill, which followed a draw against Marina Rodriguez last September. She has alternated wins and losses her entire UFC career, which dates back to 2014.
UFC 239, which takes place at T-Mobile Arena, will be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between champion Jon Jones and Thiago Santos. Also on the card, UFC women’s featherweight and bantamweight champ Amanda Nunes meets Holly Holm at 135 pounds.
