It seems that UFC heavyweights aren’t very happy with Brock Lesnar.
From the moment that former UFC heavyweight champion and WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar entered the cage to confront Daniel Cormier after UFC 226, a lot of heavyweights have been mad. Mad that a guy who hasn’t fought in forever would be able to jump the line to a title shot, and then mad that the Lesnar-Cormier fight was taking forever to come to fruition.
And then yesterday, UFC president Dana White announced that Lesnar had retired from MMA. Again.
The promotion quickly turned to Stipe Miocic to book a rematch and that’s likely what will happen. But for Curtis Blaydes, the whole thing left a very sour taste in his mouth. So he took to social media to vent his disgust:
Fuck you @BrockLesnar holding up the whole damn division just to quit smh inconsiderate AF

He’s right, obviously. Between Cormier having two belts for a while and Lesnar waffling on the sidelines considering whether to take the fight or not, the division has ground to a halt. Blaydes (11-2, 1 NC, 6-2, 1 NC UFC) did fight in March, and defeated Justin Willis, but there are a glut of other contenders ahead of the fourth-ranked heavyweight after a second loss to Francis Ngannou prior to that.
It seems like things are going to move along now, and Lesnar will likely return to pro wrestling. I’m sure Blaydes isn’t the only one saying good riddance.
