A pivotal featherweight clash is headed to South Carolina.
A pair of featherweights will look to get back on track next month.
Renato Moicano and Chan Sung Jung have verbally agreed to meet at UFC Greenville on June 22, Combate reported Wednesday night. Contracts are not yet signed, per the report. UFC officials have yet to announce the bout.
Moicano is coming off a second-round TKO loss to former featherweight champion Jose Aldo last February at UFC Fortaleza. The defeat snapped a two-fight winning streak for the Brazilian, which included a submission of Cub Swanson and a decision over Calvin Kattar. Moicano, who also holds a notable win over Jeremy Stephens in 2017, is 3-2 in his last five bouts.
Jung most recently fell to Yair Rodriguez via a last-second knockout last November in the UFC Denver main event. Considered a big comeback by “El Pantera” as Jung was up on the score cards, it was one of the best fights and arguably the best knockout of the year. Prior to that, the “Korean Zombie” beat Dennis Bermudez via TKO in early 2017. He has only fought twice since 2013.
UFC Greenville does not have an announced main event yet.
Update: The UFC has announced that Moicano vs. TKZ will headline the show.
