Tonight, follow along with Bloody Elbow for live fight night coverage of Canelo Alvarez vs. Daniel Jacobs. We’ll have round by round results all night. Here, rounds 4-6.
Round 4: Nice defensive movement from Canelo here, though he doesn’t seem to throw many counters. The two get a bit chippy inside, throwing a pair of shots behind the head and earning a warning from Tony Weeks. Canelo lands a nice right 2 minutes in, and then controls the final minute nicely. He ends the round with some beautiful head movement to force Jacobs to miss. 10-9 Canelo
Round 5: Canelo continues to use good defense here, slipping punches then countering with hooks to the body. Jacobs gets a bit in, but it’s just not enough right now. They exchange words at the end over perceived fouls, heating things up nicely. 10-9 Canelo
Round 6: Canelo landing multiple jabs in a row here. He does get lazy at one point and doesn’t bring the hands back after a jab and Jacobs lands to make him regret that. Jacobs does land some, but there doesn’t seem to be any spice on those punches, and Canelo isn’t impacted at all. Canelo gets the attention of Jacobs with a shot late in the round to be an exclamation mark on the round. 10-9 Canelo
