Boxer and commentator Sergio Mora unleashes a tirade towards Daniel Cormier, after the two got into a Twitter spat over the weekend.
UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier got into a Twitter spat with professional boxer and DAZN commentator Sergio Mora over the weekend. “DC” voiced out his dislike towards the commentary for the Canelo Alvarez-Daniel Jacobs fight, which Mora greatly took offense to.
Cormier has not yet spoken further about the incident, but Mora did so during Monday’s episode of Sirius XM Boxing’s At the fights, where he unleashed a lengthy tirade.
“I just think it was unprofessional. You come at me like an a–hole I’m gonna return it.” — @TheLatinSnake_ on the criticism Daniel Cormier had for him after the #CaneloJacobs broadcast@CommishRandyG @gerrycooney @MMAonSiriusXM #mma #boxing pic.twitter.com/2ylK9Ql76l

“I’m not pissed off, and I never met the guy,” Mora said of Cormier (transcript via MMA Junkie). “I know of him. I know that he is the UFC champion. I know that he also does analyst work for the MMA, and I just think it was unprofessional – and yeah, you come at me like an a—hole, I’m going to return it.”
As a fellow broadcaster and fighter, Mora was expecting Cormier to be a bit more understanding.
“They don’t realize how hard it is. So, yeah, the transition is difficult, and as a fighter, we don’t take criticism lightly because if we get criticized in a fight, we go in there and whoop someone’s ass,” Mora said. “You can’t do that as a broadcaster.”
“Broadcasters just have to suck it up, unless the heavyweight champion in another sport does it, then f–k him.”
