Jorge MasvidalMMA veteran and American Top Team fighter, Jorge Masvidal (20-6) is looking to turn things around this Saturday when he returns to the Strikeforce cage after a three year absence that. In that time, Masvidal has fought in Japan for Sengoku and Astra promotions, while also fighting back in the states for Bellator and the Shark Fights promotion.

Masvidal has had, what he considers bad luck, over some of his past fights since parting with Strikeforce, but wants to show the world just how tough he can be when he meets Billy Evangelista this Saturday.

He is 1-2 in his last three fights and is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Paul “Semtex” Daley at the Shark Fights 13 event in September. Masvidal feels that he won the fight, attributing the loss to more “bad luck.”

Speaking to Steven Kelliher of Tapology.com, Masvidal spoke about making his return to Strikeforce and ending his bad luck.

“A lot of people don’t know me and some of the people that do know me just saw my bad Youtube fight, so fighting in Strikeforce will help with that and should help with the sponsorship dollars. If you ask me, besides the Toby Imada fight I’ve been on a streak. I thought I won that Paul Daley fight personally. Then the fight I had in Miami (against Palomino), before the fight I was in a frustrating contract situation with Bellator so I didn’t think I was competing in Miami. A few days before the fight they called me and said the fight was back on, so in one day I cut 16lbs and was 2lbs overweight. I still thought I won the decision, but they gave it to him and he’s somebody I should have destroyed anyway. It’s just been a lot of bad luck for me.”
