Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is just two days removed from its upcoming UFC on ESPN+ 11 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, headlined by the 205-pound showdown between former title contenders, Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Smith.
Watch “The Mauler” stare down “Lionheart” at the conclusion of today’s media day, held in advance of this Sat. night’s (June 1, 2019) combat sports extravaganza inside Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
Gustafsson (18-5) and Smith (31-14) are both coming off championship losses to reigning 205-pound kingpin, Jon Jones, at UFC 232 and UFC 235, respectively. No question a victory this weekend keeps one of them afloat in the division title chase and sends the other to the back of the line.
Also getting their hands dirty in Stockholm are light heavyweights Ilir Latifi vs. Volkan Oezdemir and Jimi Manuwa vs. Aleksandar Rakic, all of whom came nose-to-nose as part of today’s staredown festivities.
