Eddie Bravo breaks down Tony Ferguson’s upcoming fight against Donald Cerrone.

In just four days, Tony Ferguson will return to the Octagon in a highly anticipated lightweight bout against fan favorite Donald Cerrone at UFC 238.

The matchup has just about everyone excited, including Ferguson’s longtime coach, Eddie Bravo, and UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

Rogan and Bravo had an enthusiastic discussion about Ferguson vs. Cerrone on the latest edition of Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, where Bravo said his prized student is preparing for war on June 8.

“It’s a crazy matchup,” Rogan said, per BJPenn.com’s Tom Taylor. “It’s really good, particularly now. Donald has been on a tear. The last three, four fights, he’s just looked so good man. The Al Iaquinta fight, for people who now how good Al is, for Donald to handle Al like that and drop him and really put it to him… The way Al put it, Al said ‘he beat the s**t out of me. That was Al’s quote.”

“Cowboy is no joke,” Bravo responded. “He doesn’t fight like Khabib [Nurmagomedov], he doesn’t fight like Conor [McGregor]. He fights like Tony. So it’s like similar, it’s like Tony vs. Tony. They’re both very good on the ground. We respect Cowboy’s ground game a lot. We did what we could to make sure nothing bad happens.”

“They both have everything,” Rogan continued. “They both have great striking, they both have great submissions.”

“It’s the same Tony,” Bravo said when asked about Ferguson’s state of mind. “You’d think, is it the same Tony after he had some family stuff going on? Is that going to change him? His opponents hope it’ll change him, but he’s the same Tony. When it comes to fighting, we don’t get into personal stuff. We just stick to fighting. He’s sharper than ever. You can’t guarantee any wins, but I will guarantee he’s going to go in at 100%.

“Tony is coming for war like he always does.”

UFC 238, which features Ferguson vs. Cerrone on the main card, takes place this Saturday, June 8 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
