Live, blow-by-blow updates for today’s UFC 238 main card from Chicago, which features a top contenders bout at women’s strawweight as the featured prelim.

The main event will see flyweight champ Henry Cejudo attempting to become the latest champ champ when he takes on Marlon Moraes for the vacant UFC bantamweight title. In the co-main event, women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko will defend her title against Jessica Eye.
The featured preliminary bout comes at women’s strawweight, where Nina Ansaroff will meet Tatiana Suarez with a possible title shot on the line.

The show kicks off on Fight Pass at approximately 6:15pm ET with four fights. The card then moves to ESPN at 8pm ET for four more bouts, then onto the main PPV card. Remember that you can only order UFC PPVs now through ESPN+, so you have to sign up for that service beforehand if you haven’t already.

Eddie Wineland vs. Grigory Popov
Round 1 – Wineland pressuring immediately. Popov trying to keep him at bay with front kicks. Body kick from Wineland. Body shot. Wineland cracks him in the chest with two punches. Right hook to the chin now. Left now. Popov with a leg kick. He has a cut beside his eye. Wineland with a body shot. Inside leg kick from Popov. Another. Body kick now. Step-in knee. He’s back in in now. Side elbow from Popov. Another. Nice right from Wineland. Wineland lands a right, and a counter. Popov with a knee. Two big rights from Wineland, and another. Popov takes them. 10-9 Wineland.
Round 2 – Popov with a right and Wineland is stunned. Another and he goes down! He’s up right away though and firing back. Knees from Popov. Wineland shoots. Popov stays upright. Hard leg kick from Popov. Front kicks from Popov. Right hook from Wineland. Wineland with a couple of low kicks. Wineland with a combo inside. Popov with a hard body kick. Wineland goes to the body. Wineland with a beautiful counter combo. Hard leg kicks from Popov, but Wineland is countering. Wineland looks for a takedown but Popov rolls through. Popov tries to throw Wineland to the mat, without success. Wineland with three huge rights and Popov goes down! Front choke from Wineland but he let it go. Popov is up and throwing, but he’s still very hurt. Wineland firing away Another uge right and he’s down again! It’s over!

Katlyn Chookagian vs. Joanne Calderwood
Round 1 – Calderwood with a quick kick. Inside leg kick from Jojo. Again. Body kick from Chookagian. Calderwood with a lead right and she’s kicking the front leg a lot, both inside and outside. Jojo catches a kick. Chookagian with a right. Body shot from Chookagian. Chookagian misses with a head kick. She scores with a combo though. They’re both beating the crap out of each other’s legs with low kicks. No one has really got their hands going yet though. Front kick from Chookagian. Lead right too. Calderwood briefly buckles Chookagian’s front leg, and it’s red. Nice right from Chookagian. Close round. I’ll go 10-9 Chookagian.
Round 2 – Calderwood is checking outside kicks now. Jojo catches a kick and slams Chookagian to the mat. She’s not down long though, and they work in the clinch. They break. Two rights from Chookagian. Calderwood responds with her own. Solid two-punch combo from Chookagian and another lead right. Another. Front kick from Chookagian gets caught. Nothing happens though. Another lead right from Chookagian. Calderwood shoots but can’t get her down. Another front kick gets caught and Calderwood takes her down this time. Chookagian immediately trying to get her legs high in her guard. Calderwood is all tied up and can’t get anything going. She sets up an armbar but it’s too late. 10- Chookagian.
Round 3 – They come out firing right away. Inside leg kick from Chookagian. Jojo kicking the front leg again. Lead right from Jojo. Left hook from Calderwood, hard body kick from Chookagian. Lead right hook from Chookagian. Calderwood with one of her own. Jojo caught a front kick yet again and gets a takedown off of it. She lets Chookagian up right away though. Right hook from Chookagian. Calderwood with an inside leg kick. Calderwood with some hard low kicks that seem to be affecting Chookagian. Chookagian with a counter left. Jojo with her hands down. She wants to scrap. Jump kick from Chookagian misses. Chookagian connects. 10-9 and 30-27 Chookagian.
