Brock Lesnar has been honeydicking the UFC and MMA fans about a potential return to fighting for almost two years now, so it was almost a relief when reports came out at the start of May putting talk of a comeback to rest. The reasons why are unclear. Some reports said the UFC wouldn’t pay Lesnar more up front money now that their pay-per-views are behind the ESPN+ paywall. White claims it’s because Lesnar got a better offer from the WWE, which is why we suspect he starts teasing a UFC run every couple of years.
Now in an interview with TMZ Sports, White clarifies he’s not sure what Lesnar’s status is with the WWE, but it makes no difference. If Lesnar doesn’t want to fight, he doesn’t want to fight.
”He’s done. He’s made his decision,” White said. “I don’t know where he is in that other world. I know he was looking into doing a new deal with [Vince McMahon] to stay with the WWE. I’ve always had a good relationship with Brock, we’ve always dealt really well with each other. And if that’s … when you decide or don’t decide to fight, it’s a decision you mentally have to be ready to fight. You have to be all in on fighting. And if you’re not all in, then you shouldn’t be fighting.
”He made a decision, and it’s the right decision.”
It certainly doesn’t sound like White is about to sharpen Lesnar’s pencil.
What do you think, Maniacs? Is Brock Lesnar really done, or do you foresee at least one more big fight for him in the future?
