Flyweights Poliana Botelho and Maryna Moroz are reportedly headed to California in August.
UFC 241 now reportedly has its first female bout added to its card. Per Combate, a flyweight bout between Poliana Botelho and Maryna Moroz is headed to the upcoming Anaheim, California event, in August.
A Nova Uniao representative, Poliana Botelho (8-2) will try and put together a win streak following her unanimous decision win over Lauren Mueller back in April. Before the victory, The 30-year-old was tapped out via rear-naked choke by Cynthia Calvillo, in November 2018, which marked Botelho’s sole UFC loss in four outings.
Ukraine’s Maryna Moroz (9-3) will look to begin a new streak as well. With an unanimous decision over Sabina Mazo in her last bout in March, the 27-year-old snapped a skid of back-to-back unanimous decision losses to the likes of Angela Hill and Carla Esparza.
Now, Poliana Botelho and Maryna Moroz are expected to meet at UFC 241, in Anaheim, California, on August 17. The card will be headlined by a rematch for the heavyweight title between the champion, Daniel Cormier, and former title holder Stipe Miocic. In their first encounter, in July 2018, ‘DC’ won the fight by knockout and became the division’s new champion.
