Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has found its main event to headline UFC on ESPN 4 on July 20, 2019 inside AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

According to Kevin Iole, Rafael dos Anjos will face Leon Edwards in a five-round Welterweight matchup. Leon took to Twitter just yesterday (June 12, 2019) to reveal that “RDA” had turned down the fight, though it appears it was simply a smoke and mirror show.

Furthermore, UFC president Dana White recently stated that he had his eyes on a potential scrap between Edwards and Darren Till in what would be dubbed a battle for London.

Dos Anjos is coming off a dominant win over Kevin Lee at UFC Fight Night 152, submitting “The Motown Phenom” in the fourth round of their headlining fight in Rochester, New York (highlights). It was a much-needed win for the Brazilian bomber, who had previously dropped back-to-back bouts to Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman.

As for Edwards, all he does is win, as the British banger has racked up seven straight victories over the likes of Donald Cerrone, Gunnar Nelson and Vicente Luque. “Rocky” was looking to lock down a fight against Jorge Masvidal after the two men engaged in backstage fisticuffs a few months back (see it), but the promotion opted to book Masvidal against Ben Askren, instead.

Still, it seems everyone made out fine, as most of the top 170-pound fighters are now booked to scrap and the division should have a clear-cut No. 1 contender ready for either Usman or Covington later this year.

UFC on ESPN 4 will also feature the return of Greg Hardy, who takes on Juan Adams in Heavyweight action. Also, Andrei Arlovski will get it on with Ben Rothwell for a second time, while James Vick looks to make his home state proud when he faces Dan Hooker.
