Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) makes its way back to the ESPN+ digital network for this Saturday night’s (June 22, 2019) mixed martial arts (MMA) extravaganza, held inside Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. Headlining the “Palmetto State” fight card is a 145-pound showdown between top-ranked featherweight contenders Renato Moicano and Chan Sung Jung, while bantamweight brawlers John Lineker and Rob Font were scratched from the event after “Hands of Stone” withdrew due to injury. Sure, none of these contests will have much impact on the division title chase in any weight class, but all the participating combatants are known for their fan-friendly styles. Don’t forget to catch the UFC Fight Night 154 preliminary card on ESPN2, beginning at 4 p.m. ET, featuring the Octagon debut of Deron Winn, as well as the lightweight return of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 contestant, Matt Wiman. An eye poke briefly slows the action at about the 90 second mark. Barberena turns up the pressure and lands a left hand and left kick. Good kick from Brown. The fight moves into the clinch, where Barberena lands an elbow. Brown pushing Barberena into the fence, landing okay knees to the belly. Brown hangs onto the bell, ending a close and fairly uneventful round.

Barberena avoids a kick and drives into the clinch, but Brown reverses him into the fence. The two break back to the center quickly. A guillotine attempt from Barberena forces Brown to his back briefly, and Brown eats some shots as he stands back up.
Barberena advances forward, lands in the clinch, and digs some uppercuts. The two push back-and-forth in the clinch, with Barberena a bit more active. Nice elbow on the break from Brown. Good couple punches from him as well. Hard low kick from Barberena. Brown misses with a flying knee and pushes back to the clinch. Barberena lands a decent body kick at the bell and falls down in the process.

Round 3: Barberena blocks a high kick and lands a low kick. One more. Barberena advancing but having a tough time landing punches on the taller man. Flurry from Barberena sees a couple punches connect. Good 1-1-2 from Brown. Body shot from Brown lands but is countered. Leaping right hook connects a bit for Barberena. Brown lands well with a cross, and Barberena stumbles. The two brawl, and Brown connects with a few shots.
A snap kick from Brown stuns Barberena, who is hurt and curled up along the fence. Barberena wraps up a clinch briefly, holding on and slowing his foe down. Brown breaks away once more and lands a massive combo, sending Barberena slumped to the mat with one final body shot

Round 1: Feints and kicks open the round. Good left connects from Ewell. Another. Combination from the American. Dos Santos still advancing, but he eats another couple straight punches. Uppercut-hook for Ewell. Big left hook connects from dos Santos. Dos Santos advances with a combo, eats a counter, and keeps punching.
At about the 2:30 mark, dos Santos shoots a double leg along the fence. He gets deep, but Ewell is able to defend and separate. Wild exchanges sees Ewell land. Dos Santos charges directly into a counter left and is stunned. The two brawl, and both men land. Big right hand lands for dos Santos as Ewell steps in. Ewell lands a couple more shots at the bell.

Round 2: Jabs from Ewell open the round. Ewell being more patient, moving move. Dos Santos fails on a shot. Some punches glance their target for the Brazilian. Eye poke from Ewell stalls the action. Good jab from Ewell. Nice right from dos Santos. Body kick for Ewell. Great counter left stings dos Santos. Big combination lands for the American moments later.
Another jab from Ewell. Dos Santos is bloody, but he finally lands a double leg! Dos Santos passes into mount quickly, lands a few shots, but Ewell slips out the back door and escapes. Ewell stings the Brazilian with more straight punches. Dos Santos sticks his tongue out, gets punches a few more times, and the bell rings.

Round 3: Dos Santos lands a good shot early but eats two for his trouble. Good right lands over top the jab for Ewell. Jab from Ewell. Dos Santos charges forward wildly and attempts a couple takedowns, but nothing comes of it. Dos Santos ducks into another double leg and finishes with an inside trip. Three minutes remaining.
Ewell throws up a triangle, which allows dos Santos to step into half guard. Decent punches land for the Brazilian. Dos Santos threatening the d’arce choke and throwing punches. Ewell tries to scramble but gives up mount! Hard elbows land for the Brazilian, but Ewell kicks off the fence and escapes back up to his feet. Dos Santos follows him with a double leg, but he’s unable to finish the shot. Ewell breaks away with 30 seconds remaining, lands a left. Ewell waves him in and lands a couple hard punches before the bell.

De La Rosa tries a head kick, eats a leg kick. Up-jab stings De La Rosa two minutes in. De La Rosa hits an easy double-leg. Lee scoots to the fence, makes it to her feet. Round 1: They trade low kicks to start before Holland puts him on the fence. Holland hits the body with knees and punches. They separate a minute in. Side kick by Holland, leg kick after eating a jab. Counter right from Di Chirico. Three-piece lands. Holland low kick. Two minutes in. Holland tries to spin, ties up. Shoulder strike, body shots. Di Chirico reverses. Two minutes to go.
Di Chirico tries an elbow, gets reversed. Next elbow lands as they move towards the center. Knees by Holland, who tries to spin. Holland answers a body kick with a left hook with two minutes to go. Overhand right from Di Chirico lands. Elbow wobbles Holland and Di Chirico tries to open up, taking Holland down when the latter tries a flying knee. Di Chirico lets him up. 10-9 Di Chirico.

Round 2: Aguilar a little busier to start. Ige rips the body. Overhand right lands for him. Ige shoots under a right hand and brings Aguilar down. Round 1: Yoder on the advance, trading kicks and punches. She hits an early takedown and looks for the armbar. One minute in. Kondo avoids it, but gives up her back. One hook in for Yoder. Back to half guard. Hard elbows from Yoder. Two minutes in. She avoids upkicks, moves to side control. Two minutes to go.
Kondo rolls to her knees and Yoder looks for the back. One hook in and fighting for the choke. Good punches from Yoder with a minute to go. Still trying to sneak the choke in, then transitions to the armbar. Kondo manages to get a leg en, so Yoder goes back to dropping elbows and forearms. 10-8 Yoder.
Round 2: Good exchanges in the opening seconds as they duke it out in the clinch. Yoder looks for a single-leg, can’t get it. More kicks from Yoder. Kondo stuffs a takedown, lands an uppercut and left hook. Good right hand on the break. Third time’s the charm but Kondo slams her with hammerfists a minute in. Yoder transitions to the back. Mostly control so far. Two minutes in. Kondo can’t quite turn into top position. Forearm smashes from Yoder, retakes the back. Two minutes to go.

Round 3: Yoder can’t get the first single-leg, nor the second one. Kondo slaps on a 10-finger guillotine that looks tight, but winds up on her back. One minute in. Yoder retakes the back, then full mount. Two minutes in. Back to half guard. Now the back again. Yoder drops punches on a turtling Kondo. Two minutes to go.

Round 1: Wiman sending out kicks, eats some knees inside. Pena puts Wiman on the fence, lands elbows. Wiman leg kick. Ref pauses the fight to check out Wiman’s cut; it’s in a bad spot, but they let it continue. One minute in. Wiman hits a takedown, but Pena sweeps his way up and lands a pair of heavy elbows. Pena gets an arm triangle locks up, stuck in half guard. He loses it, looks for the back, Wiman slips out the back door. The scramble continues and again Pena ends up on top. More punches. More punches by Pena. Wiman gets in on a toe hold, can’t finish. Pena takes mount, briefly looks for the arm triangle. Wiman gives up the back. Full body triangle. 10-8 Pena.
Round 3: Low kicks from Wiman to start the round. Right hand exchange, big left cross stings Wiman and Pena unloads combiantions. Wiman slips against the fence and Pena sets up in his guard. More heavy punches. One minute in. Pena stands over Wiman and punishes him with punches until the ref steps in.

Round 1: Rozenstruik drops Crowder with a counter jab in the opening seconds, then puts him to sleep with a few more punches.

Round 1: McCann on the front foot early, tossing out low kicks. Lipski looking to answer with 1-2s, lands the jab. Lipski firing counter combinations. One minute in. Low kick from Lipski. Round 2: They open the round trading once again. Leg kick and tight right cross land for Lipski. McCann tries to get inside with a combo. One minute in. Lipski body kick. McCann with a glancing spinning elbow, lands a 1-3. Another nice hook. 1-2 by Lipski. Lipski briefly ties up, misses the knee on the break. Two minutes in. Counters a low kick with a 1-2 attempt. McCann to the body. McCann counters a head kick with a right cross that drops Lipski. McCann waves her up and they continue to trade. Big left hook stings Lipski and now McCann’s landing again in what had been a Lipski round. Two minutes to go.
