Amanda Nunes has given her take on Holly Holm ahead of their fight at UFC 239 next month.

Amanda Nunes has discussed her upcoming matchup with Holly Holm at UFC 239, stating she sees a lot of ‘holes’ in the former bantamweight champion’s game.

Nunes extended her unbeaten run to eight last December when she knocked out Cris Cyborg at UFC 232 to become the first women’s champ-champ in UFC history. Though she is yet to defend that featherweight title, she will aim to make the fourth defense of her bantamweight title against Holm at UFC 239.

Talking at a media scrum earlier this week, Nunes said Holm has been exposed in several of her UFC losses, and even her wins.

“Well, she is not a champion anymore,” Nunes said. “Of course she has holes in her game. Miesha Tate exposed her a lot. Valentina Shevchenko exposed her a lot. She has a bunch of fights even that she won that she have a lot of holes.” (Transcription via MMA Mania)

Since making her mark in the UFC by knocking out Ronda Rousey to win the bantamweight title, Holm has gone 2-4 in her last six. This will be her third title shot during that run, but her first at 135 pounds. “The Preacher’s Daughter” hasn’t fought in over a year, her last fight was a unanimous decision win over Megan Anderson at UFC 225.

“I feel like I have to manage very well my time, and wait for the best moment. I don’t need to try and fight here, she has to come to me. She can run, she can try to outpoint me, but I am going to be sharp when I get her in the right moment.”

UFC 239 will take place on July 9th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The event is expected to be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Thiago Santos.
