Team Alpha Male’s Vince Murdock will not be making his Octagon debut this weekend after all.

The UFC Minneapolis card has lost a fight two days out.

Vince Murdock is out of his featherweight bout with Jordan Griffin, he announced in a Facebook post Thursday evening. Murdock, who was set to make his UFC debut on short notice, said he was not medically cleared by UFC doctors.

“At this time the UFC requires some more tests to clear me medically fit to fight,” Murdock wrote. “As difficult as it is for me to write this message, I strongly believe with the required test completed in the coming days I will be cleared to fight.”

Murdock wrote that he expects his situation will be resolved soon and that he will be given another fight in the UFC.

Murdock, who trains at Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, filled in for an injured Chas Skelly. Murdock is riding a five-fight unbeaten streak.

A second replacement opponent will not be sought for Griffin, who is coming off a debut loss to Dan Ige last December at UFC Milwaukee.

With the Murdock vs. Griffin cancellation, UFC Minneapolis will proceed with 12 bouts. The card takes place Saturday at Target Center and is headlined by Francis Ngannou vs. Junior dos Santos.
