It took 115 pound fighter Amanda Ribas two rounds to wear down and choke out Emily Whitmire in their early prelim fight.
Brazilian strawweight prospect Amanda Ribas had a successful debut at UFC on ESPN: Ngannou vs. dos Santos, choking out her opponent Emily Whitmire at 2:10 of the second round.
Ribas controlled the majority of the fight, using her judo and BJJ skills to pin Whitmire against the fence and drag her to the ground. She spent a good portion of the first round on a standing Whitmire’s back with a body triangle locked in, and then turned up the intensity a bit in the second, stunning her opponent with ground and pound before slipping an arm in to choke.
