Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will stage its first event ever in Denmark on September 28, 2019 from inside Royal Arena in Copenhagen, and the fight card is starting to come along.
Longtime mixed marital arts (MMA) manager, Malki Kawa — who recently announced he’d be breaking all the news for his fighters moving forward — took to Twitter to reveal that his client, Jared Cannonier, has verbally agreed to face Jack Hermansson at this event.

Finally, someone stepped up!
Jared is coming off a technical knockout win over Anderson Silva at UFC 237 (see it), and while he would’ve liked to get back into the cage sooner, he recently revealed he was having trouble getting foes to sign on the dotted line. He was eying a showdown against Kelvin Gastelum in Mexico City later this year, but it seems UFC had other plans.
As for Jack, he has been on fire as of late, winning four in a row including his most recent victory over Ronald Souza a few months ago. Interestingly enough, Hermansson also eyed a showdown against Gastelum later this year.
With Cannonior ranked at No. 9 and Hermansson holding steady at No. 4 on the official UFC rankings, this fight has a lot of stake for both men, as Jack can inch his way to a shot at the title, while Jared can potentially break into the top 10. And since two former division champions are now moving up to Light Heavyweight, the field is wide open at 185 pounds.
As of this posting, the only other fight confirmed for the event is a Welterweight matchup between Gunnar Nelson taking on Thiago Alves.
