Video: Ben Askren releases footage of hotel run-in with Jorge Masvidal

Watch video footage of the alleged run-in between Ben Askren and Jorge Masvidal.

Yesterday, top-five welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal said he had a run-in with Ben Askren and that his opponent ‘f-cking froze’ during the encounter.

Well, Askren has released video footage of yesterday’s hotel confrontation and it doesn’t look like the former ONE FC and Bellator welterweight champion was particularly fazed by Masvidal’s antics.

Askren and Masvidal are set to collide in a pivotal welterweight matchup tomorrow night at UFC 239 and, speaking to reporters before the bout, ‘Gamebred’ promised to painfully and brutally dismantle ‘Funky’ to stake his claim as the next No. 1 contender.

Meanwhile Askren, who is undefeated after twenty professional fights (1 NC), has promised a ‘pretty simple’ and easy fight against Masvidal on July 6. His UFC debut against former champ Robbie Lawler earlier this year, however, was anything but simple and easy. Askren was battered in the opening minute but somehow came back to secure a bulldog choke at 3:20 of the first round.

UFC 239: Jones vs. Santos, which features Askren vs. Masvidal on the main card, takes place tomorrow night at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
