Jon ‘Bones’ Jones has been widely regarded as the greatest combat sports athlete to have ever competed in mixed martial arts (MMA). Tonight, he headlined the latest pay-per-view (PPV) offering from the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC). His opponent, Thiago ‘Marreta’ Santos, was on a four-fight win streak, including finishes in all three of his light heavyweight appearances. The co-headliner was a women’s bantamweight title fight between champion, Amanda ‘The Lioness’ Nunes, and former champion, Holly ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ Holm. Beyond those two title fights the rest of the card, which took place in Paradise, Nevada, was full of compelling match-ups.
