One of the most interesting things about former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight title contender, Anthony Johnson, is that you never know where he’s going to turn up next.
First we saw him blowing up inside the gym, creeping up on 300 pounds of rock-hard muscle, then we witnessed his role as glorified bouncer for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.
Now he’s on the grappling mats trying to hulk his way to victory.
“I just had the most fun I’ve had in a long time time,” Johnson wrote on Facebook. “No pressure, was focused. So much fun preparing. Met some cool people and competed against one of the best and was out of my comfort zone. I lost but I still won in my opinion because I had a blast.”
Johnson was submitted by International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) World No-Gi Champion Craig Jones in the Submission Underground (SUG) 9 main event. Jones overcame a significant size and strength advantage to secure a heel hook in just 59 seconds.
Here are the complete SUG 9 results (via MMA Sucka):
