If Conor McGregor ever steps in the cage with Jorge Masvidal, he might be the betting underdog.
UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal is at the high point of his career to date. After consecutive knockout wins over Darren Till and Ben Askren (the latter in just five seconds), he’s able to call his shot to a degree. And one of the shots he called was in Conor McGregor’s direction.
Now we have no idea when McGregor might be returning the cage, but Masvidal could be an alluring fight for him. Since it’s even the most remote of possibilities, of course betting sites will put out a line on it. And Masvidal is actually the favorite on the first line, according to BestFightOdds:
Future Events: Conor McGregor (+140) vs. Jorge Masvidal (-160) https://t.co/VO30HT1Mz6 @TheNotoriousMMA

There is also a prop bet you can play where you take odds on McGregor’s next opponent. Nate Diaz is still the front-runner odds-wise, but Masvidal is actually more likely than Khabib Nurmagomedov to fight Conor from a betting perspective (via Odds Shark):
Odds to be Conor McGregor’s next UFC opponent (BetOnline):
Nate Diaz +225
Jorge Masvidal +350
Khabib Nurmagomedov +400
Dustin Poirier +500
Tony Ferguson +650
Donald Cerrone +700

It remains unclear if McGregor will ever return to the UFC at all. He last fought at UFC 229, where he was defeated by Nurmagomedov, then suspended for a brawl with Khabib’s team. Meanwhile, if McGregor passes him up, Gamebred might just take on Kamaru Usman next for the UFC welterweight title.
