Round 7: Best round yet for Thurman, who manages to land some clean shots that impact Manny on a few occasions. Early on, he connects off a nice counter, then later in the round, he gets in a good combo. Pacquiao throws some bombs with 30 seconds to go, but Thurman throws his own in response. Good action, and a much needed round for Thurman. 10-9 Thurman
Round 8: A little less volume and action on this one, though still plenty from both men. Neither truly establishes himself in this round, though Thurman does land some nice punches in the final minute of the round, including a good, clean right hand. 10-9 Thurman
Round 9: The 40 year old Pacquiao seems to have lost some of the energy in his movements we say in the earliest rounds. He’s still doing well, but definitely slowing down, with fewer clean punches landing, while Thurman manages to land well. 10-9 Thurman
