Tonight, follow along with Bloody Elbow for live fight night coverage of Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman. We’ll have round by round results all night. Here, rounds 1-3.
Round 1: Things start with some feeling out, though both men also show off some fast, explosive bursts. Thurman seems to be landing a bit more, and I’m beginning to think he’s got the round when Pacquiao lands a 1-2 to the body and chin and puts Thurman on the mat! He bounces back, but Pac scores first blood. 10-8 Pacquiao
Round 2: Pacquiao is pressuring forward, exploding in and showing great foot and hand speed. And he’s catching Thurman, who doesn’t seem fully able to avoid these attacks. Thurman does throw a lot, but Pacquiao blocks them well. Pac ends the round with some beautiful footwork and a little dancing shuffle at the bell. 10-9 Pacquiao
Round 3: Thurman working on moving Pac against the ropes and firing off from there. And he succeeds in that task this round, though doesn’t really land anything clean. Pac throwing the jab out more and finding success with it. 10-9 Pacquiao
