In light of Jon Jones’ recent battery charge, top contender Corey Anderson blasted the UFC light heavyweight champion on Monday.
Corey Anderson believes Jon Jones has been putting up an act.
The UFC light heavyweight contender blasted Jones, the division’s champion, on Monday after a recent battery charge against Jones surfaced. Anderson criticized Jones for appearing to be a different person than he was a few years ago, but not holding true to that.
“So last week it was his past like he was a changed man,” Anderson wrote on Twitter. “This morning we see he’s still the same ol ‘Can’t get right’…from pregnant woman to strippers.
“Jon Jones deserves a Grammy for his acting skills, cuz he selling the media that changed man roll like Denzel. #ufc #phony.”

Jones is facing one count of battery stemming from an alleged strip club incident in April. A cocktail waitress accused him of slapping her and pulling her down to his lap and kissing her neck, according to a report from a local Albuquerque news station. She also accused Jones of placing her in a chokehold and lifting her off the ground. The waitress said Jones continued to touch her, despite her request for him to stop, until he decided to leave the club.
James Hallinan, a spokesperson for Jones, denied the accusations.
A bench warrant against Jones was lifted Sunday after Jones paid a cash bond at Albuquerque Metropolitan Court.
Anderson, the No. 8 light heavyweight in the UFC, is riding a three-fight winning streak. Most recently, “Overtime” beat Ilir Latifi late last year at UFC 232.
