Sergio Pettis is changing weight classes yet again.

Pettis is returning to the flyweight division, where he will meet Alex Perez at UFC Mexico City on Sept. 21, UFC officials announced Saturday.

Pettis moved up to the bantamweight division for his last fight, a decision loss to Rob Font at UFC on FOX 31 last December. Before that, he had eight fights at 125 pounds, where he holds wins over current No. 1 contender Joseph Benavidez, Brandon Moreno, and John Moraga. Pettis, 25, started his MMA career at 135 pounds. He has lost two in a row.

Perez returned to the winning column in his last bout, defeating Mark De La Rosa at UFC Philadelphia in March. Perez, a top flyweight prospect, is 4-1 in the UFC following a win on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2017. His only Octagon loss is to Benavidez.

In the main event of UFC Mexico City, Yair Rodriguez meets Jeremy Stephens in a featherweight bout. The entire card streams live on ESPN+.
