Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
More than at any point previous in his professional career, Corey Anderson is making headlines. He’s been a mainstay of the Light Heavyweight top 10 for some time now, but “Overtime” is definitely more of a grinder rather than someone who picks up highlight reel finishes. Still, his recent trio of victories over a high-level of competition has emboldened Anderson, resulting in a callout and mini-feud with Jon Jones.
However, UFC president Dana White has killed any discussion of Anderson actually receiving his grudge match with “Bones,” at least for now. As a result, Anderson set his eyes on a different target: the hottest prospect at 205 lbs., Johnny Walker. In three trips to the Octagon, Walker has scored three tremendous knockouts in a grand total of less than three minutes.
Wanted to dethrone the “King”, they want me to derail a train, #JohnnyWalker thinks he’s ready for the big leagues, time to roll out the red carpet. You want the sauce?! Meet me in the land of opportunity, NYC, MSG, Nov 2nd. #ufc #msg @AliAbdelaziz00 @danawhite @Mickmaynard2

It’s a very interesting match up that would make sense. Anderson is an excellent spoiler, the type of wrestler than can make an athletic prospect look really average. At the same time, Walker has that special air about him and a great gift for finding opportunities to land massive blows. It would certainly be an extremely tense opening round!
Given White’s current annoyance with Anderson, however, it remains unclear if he’ll get his opportunity opposite the Brazilian.
Insomnia
Imagine if UFC promoted this aspect of Cyborg’s personality rather than disrespected her constantly.

Yeah, I’m still receiving angry emails and tweets because I thought his UFC 240 commentary was bad, but Joe Rogan is awesome.
“El Cucuy” is waiting in the shadows…
… and talking trash in the daylight.
I watch this over and over yet never get bored.
Though Eddie Alvarez wrote the post prior to Edgar’s defeat, this is a really awesome throwback from two Lightweight greats.
This is great:
Slips, rips, and KO clips
My favorite thing to do when I see clips like this and don’t know the names of either fighter is to guess which man delivers the knockout. When both guys are shuffling kind of awkwardly, it’s tough!

Soccer kick highlights just make me miss soccer kicks even more.
Ok, goodnight.

He never saw the head kick coming.

Sean Soriano seemed a lot more talented than his 0-3 UFC run would suggest, so it’s good to see him back in the win column.

A perfect “JUST BLEED” exchange:

Random Land
I understand it’s a joke video, but even still watching it makes my back and hamstrings tense.

Midnight Music: Chance The Rapper’s debut album that released on Friday is a bloated and boring mess. His first two mixtapes, however, are excellent and will remain well-loved in the hip hop community for a very long time to come.
