Light heavyweights Corey Anderson and Johnny Walker won’t wait for Mick Maynard to match them up any longer before they begin taunting each other.

Last Monday, Anderson took to Twitter to call out the rising light heavyweigh prospect for a fight in the upcoming UFC 244 card, at Madison Square Garder, in New York City. In his post, Corey wrote that he wants to be the one to derail Walker’s hype train and welcome him to the big leagues.

A few hours later, Walker replied to Anderson’s post, accepting the challenge and stating that the light heavyweight division is in need of a new king. However, the UFC has not officialy paired them up yet.

Currently on a three-fight winning streak, Corey Anderson (12-4) bested Patrick Cummins, Glover Teixeira and most recently, in December 2018, Ilir Latifi, all by way of unanimous decision. The 29-year-old has not lost a fight since a head kick knockout loss to Ovince Saint Preux, back in November 2017.

Hot prospect Johnny Walker (17-3) also rides a three-fight streak of his own, with KO wins over the likes of Khalil Rountree, Justin Ledet and Misha Cirkunov, with all victories coming before the two-minute mark of the first round. Before his UFC debut, the 27-year-old had already gathered five other wins, dating his last defeat to June 2016, when he was knocked out by Henrique Lopes.

UFC 244 is scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden, in New York City, on November 2. So far, no fights have been linked to the event.
