He’s back! The man behind the mask!
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion, Cain Velasquez, doesn’t appear to be in any big hurry to make his mixed martial arts (MMA) return after getting popped and dropped by top title contender, Francis Ngannou, at UFC on ESPN 1 back in February.
That doesn’t mean he’s finished competing, mind you, despite his exploding knee and imploding skull. But instead of getting his hands dirty inside the Octagon, Velasquez will move forward with his pro wrestling debut at Triplemania XXVII this Sat. (Aug. 3) from inside Arena Mexico in Mexico City.
The event airs live on Twitch in both English and Spanish.
Velasquez, 37, will team with Cody Rhodes and Psycho Clown in a six-man tag team match against Texano Jr., Taurus, and a “mystery partner” to be revealed. Maybe it will be fellow pro wrestler, Brock Lesnar, ready to reclaim his honor!
Or maybe it will be some luchador that MMA fans have never heard of because most of them hate pro wrestling.
