Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
The story of Jon “War Machine” Koppenhaver is one of disgusting violence, mental illness, and ultimately tragedy. A two-time UFC competitor many years ago, War Machine transitioned into the porn industry before being sent to prison for assault. He was released and joined up with Bellator MMA, but there would be no peace for Koppenhaver.
After some foul tweets and other smaller controversies, Koppenhaver brutally beat and nearly killed girlfriend Christy Mack. As a result, Koppenhaver was sentenced to life in prison, not eligible for parole until the age of 71.
Apparently, that does not disqualify War Machine from the dating pool. After a two-year relationship with a woman who began writing him letters in prison, the two have gone through the necessary channels and received permission to be wed (Per TMZ). As part of the process, the prison chaplain and warden sit down with the civilian half of the the couple and explain the — in this case, quite heinous — nature of the crimes committed.
It wasn’t enough to deter the new Mrs. Machine.

It’s been too long since we’ve witnessed Thiago Alves destroy a man via low kick.
Underwater workouts are simply cooler than those on land.

Rodtang is an absolute killer.
A superman punch AND grounded knees? This is like MMA bingo.

Martin Nguyen (13-3) makes his third defense of the ONE FW strap, draining and decimating Koyomi Matsushima late in round two! The former two-division champ has stopped 12, nine by knockout. Midnight Music: Fitting the overall theme of “weird and wild,” I listened to the Mothers of Invention’s landmark double LP Freak Out! It’s an odd mix of everything from blues rock to doo-wop, often with a healthy dose of Frank Zappa’s signature strangeness.
Sleep well Maniacs! More martial arts madness is always on the way.
