Colby Covington picked up a huge win over Robbie Lawler last Saturday night (Aug. 3, 2019) at UFC on ESPN 5 in Newark, New Jersey (see it), setting up a big title fight against Welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, later this year.

But Colby’s championship dreams don’t end inside the Octagon, as “Chaos” has plans to eventually make the jump over to the wrestling arena to capture WWE gold.

“It’s true, it’s damn true,” said Colby, who was channeling his inner-Kurt Angle on a recent edition of Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. “We haven’t had that sit-down just yet, but I think they (UFC) are going to realize that it is going to be good for business to be able to crossover, go back and forth,” added Colby.

“Brock Lesnar did it, so why can’t I do it?”

Indeed, Brock was given the chance to bounce back-and-forth, but he is one of the biggest money-making machines in both sports, so many would consider him the exception and not the rule.

Interesting enough, the chatter regarding a potential crossover started after Colby got permission from Kurt Angle to use his walkout song in Newark.

“I got to give Kurt Angle a huge shout out for giving me the blessing to be able to use that song. It’s so generous of him and I am thankful to him. Also to Bobby Lashley for asking Kurt Angle to use the song,” said Colby. “Big thanks to those guys and to Vince McMahon I am going to see you soon. I am going to get the WWE belt and this UFC belt, I will be a two-sport champion.”

Of course, the chances of Dana White and Co. actually letting Colby crossover are slim to none, as Covington would have a lot of work to do as UFC champion should he defeat Usman. Yes, Ronda Rousey eventually made her way over to WWE, but that was after she decided she was completely done with WWE.

What say you, can you see Colby strutting his stuff inside the WWE ring down the road?
