Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will invade Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. on December 7, 2019, and the fight card already has a few bouts booked. According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Aspen Ladd will face Yana Kunitskaya in women’s Bantamweight action, while Cynthia Calvillo and Claudia Gadelha face off in a Strawweight affair.

Ladd will look to bounce back after suffering the first loss of her mixed marital arts (MMA) after she was knocked out by Germaine de Randamie in just 16 seconds last month at UFC Fight Night 155 in Sacramento (recap). Prior to the defeat, Ladd had gone an impressive 8-0 including winning her first three fights inside the Octagon.

Yana, meanwhile, has won two straight after getting beat down by Cris Cyborg in her UFC debut back at UFC 222, defeating Lina Lansberg and Marion Reneau in back-to-back decision wins.

As for Cynthia Calvillo, she is also the owner of a two-fight win streak after suffering the first loss of her pro career to Carla Esparza back in 2017. One of the top prospects in the division, Calvillo bounced back nicely after her defeat by taking out Poliana Botelho and Cortney Casey.

Gadelha, meanwhile, recently got back on the winning track after doing enough to get a decision win at UFC 239 against Randa Markos. Since 2017, though, Claudia has failed to garner any steam by alternating wins and losses, and is looking for her first back-to-back win streak since 2016-2017.

No main event has been confirmed for the ESPN-televised event, so keep it locked in to MMAmania as more fight announcements are revealed.
