Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White is adamant that both Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier want to throw down in a trilogy fight. For his part, Cormier would be willing to run it back, but if it doesn’t happen, then that’s okay, too.

As for Jones, while he has expressed some interest in the past, he is now shutting it down completely once and for all. Jones took to social media recently to guarantee that a third fight will not happen on the heels of “DC’s” E:60 special that said he’d be open to it.

“Despite what he says to the media, I will guarantee you guys there will be no third fight. No way will he lose that weight again, no way will he be willing to reface those nightmares that comes when facing the beast,” said Jones.

Of course, the two men could always throw down at heavyweight, a division Cormier is very comfortable at and is the current champ in. Jones, meanwhile, has never fought above 205 pounds, so he would likely be at a disadvantage against “DC.”

Still, Dana White desperately wants it to go down so he would have to throw around some huge numbers to either convince Cormier to drop back down to 205 pounds, or make a good case to Jones to pack on the pounds. Jon did have two wins over “DC,” but after his UFC 214 drug test came back positive, his knockout win was ruled a no contest (NC).

Of course, should Cormier come up short against Stipe Miocic this Saturday night at UFC 241 in Anaheim, Calif., he could very well call it a career making talks of another fight against his bitter rival null and void.

As for Jones, he is still waiting to see who has next as he is eying a potential return to action at UFC 244 on November 2, 2019 in New York.
