A lightweight fight between Marc Diakiese and Lando Vannata has been added to UFC Copenhagen.
A lightweight fight has been added to UFC Copenhagen on September 28th, as Marc Diakiese will meet Lando Vannata on the card.
MMA Newsome was first to report the matchup, though the UFC is yet to make an official announcement. The card is beginning to shape up as UFC on ESPN+ 18 marks the promotion’s first visit to Denmark.
Diakiese (13-3) enters the fight with Vannata off a unanimous decision win over Joseph Duffy at UFC London. Before that, the “Bonecrusher” lost three straight fights, including decisions against Nasrat Haqparast and Drakkar Klose, and also a submission loss to Dan Hooker. The win over Duffy was the Brit’s first in two years.
Vannata (10-3-2) has bizarrely gone 1-1-2 in his last four UFC appearances. Fighting to a draw with both Bobby Green and Matt Frevola and losing a decision to Klose in between that, the 27-year-old most recently won by first round submission against Marcos Rosa Mariano at UFC 234.
UFC Copenhagen takes place on September 28th at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark. The card will be headlined by a middleweight fight between Jack Hermansson and Jared Cannonier.
