The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title picture no longer features former champion, Robbie Lawler, after the “Ruthless” one was whooped by Colby Covington earlier this month on ESPN.

So if and when the former middleweight does make his return to the Octagon, he’s likely to find himself paired up against an opponent who is also coming off a lopsided loss, like former title contender Darren Till.

“That’s a great fight, mate,” Till told Eurobash Podcast (via MMA News). “I called Robbie out not so long ago and he’s a childhood hero. I grew up watching him. That would be spectacular, mate. It really would. I’m ready to go right now, one hundred percent before Christmas.”

Till (17-2-1) was unbeaten inside the Octagon before dropping back-to-back fights to Tyron Woodley and Jorge Masvidal, the latter of which resurrected talks of “The Gorilla” moving up to the 185-pound weight class.

As for the rapidly-fading Lawler (28-14, 1 NC), the 37 year-old slugger has not won back-to-back fights in over four years and hasn’t scored a knockout since putting away Rory MacDonald in their welterweight bloodbath back in July 2015.

Till vs. Lawler … who wants it?
