About a week ago, a grainy video emerged of McGregor sucker punching an older man in a bar with his infamous left hand when the patron declined to have a glass of his Proper 12 whiskey. The incident actually happened months ago, but only recently has it grown to a wider story. As a result, everyone from the punched patron to Joe Rogan has given their opinion.

McGregor himself even publicly apologized.

If there’s one person who can possibly related to Conor McGregor’s incredible rise to fame and then struggles in the spotlight, it’s likely Mike Tyson. The legendary boxer spoke with TMZ about his friend and smoking buddy, arguing that the “Notorious” is actually a very kind soul despite his recent scandals and run-ins with the law.

“He’s a wonderful person. He’s a really kind man and he’s gonna get good karma for that,” Tyson said. When asked if McGregor would be able to bounce back from this scandal, Tyson replied in the affirmative, “He’s earned it.”

Though it’s certainly up for debate whether or not McGregor’s eventual return to good graces can be considered a second, third, or fourth chance, there is little doubt that “Iron” is correct. The train continues rolling for McGregor, who will not seem to suffer any concrete consequences as a result of the incident at the bar.

Instead, McGregor eyes a rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov. While that bout seems unlikely, McGregor may still leap back into the title mix were Dustin Poirier to upset the Dagestani wrestler at UFC 242. Even if the situation does not enfold in such favorable terms for the Irishman, McGregor has many high-profile fights available to him, and a win in any could see him receive a title shot afterward.

Even without a belt, it’s good to be king.
