Bellator MMA
Live, blow-by-blow updates for today’s Bellator 225 event capped off with heavyweight rematch Matt Mitrione vs. Sergei Kharitonov.
Join us today (Saturday, August 24th) on Bloody Elbow for live results, discussion, round scoring and play-by-play (for the main card) as Bellator 225 Mitrione vs. Kharitonov 2 takes off from the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The marquee matchup on the night will entail two of Bellator’s most notable heavyweights when Matt Mitrione and Sergei Kharitonov run it back one more time. Their first fight, back at Bellator 215, ended in an anticlimactic 15-second cup kick no contest. Before that in the co-main event, Bellator’s former heavyweight champ was supposed to face Javy Ayala, but will now square up with UFC veteran Timothy Johnson. This super-short notice matchup is just as good, if not better, than the one it’s replacing.
Today’s event is in North America, and the five-fight main card, for which play-by-play will be provided, kicks off at 9pm ET on the Paramount Network and will simulcast on DAZN,. The preliminary card is scheduled to start at 5:45pm ET and will stream online.
