Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Attention readers, class is definitely in session.

Currently, a video of a school teacher squaring off with one of his students on the wrestling mat is circulating the web. According to BarStoolSport’s caption, the teacher — very clearly a wrestler — promised his pupil an “A” were the student — very clearly not a wrestler — able to take him down.

Predictably, the opposite occurred. The teacher won this bet with authority, landing a picture-perfect double leg as the schoolboy jumped into the air for reasons unknown. It doesn’t seem like there was any actual ill will between the two given the crowd’s general reaction and mood, but there is no better place to settle a disagreement than the wrestling room!

Unfortunately, the double-legged teen will simply have to resort to home work and study like the rest of his peers.

Insomnia

Somehow, I don’t expect this challenge to take off quite like the spinning bottle kick one. Ouch!

Gregor Gillespie finally called his shot! I don’t think the match up benefits Anthony Pettis in any way, but damn would I watch it.

This guy clearly knew what he was talking about — the rise of Adesanya and Volkanovski has been so impressive to watch.

This is never going to end, is it?

The latest BJ Penn incident is completely absurd.

Judo highlights are always satisfying.

This drill is actually a lot of fun.

Slips, rips, and KO clips

This was already an awesome clip, but the fact that it was filmed so close to the fight really makes it more intense.

In a similar vein, REF CAM!

Guillotine chokes are far more effective than bedtime stories.

Random Land

This is my mood since my opponent pulled out yesterday:

Midnight Mania: One of the more upbeat tracks from Ryan Adams’ debut album, Heartbreaker. There are plenty of sad songs on the LP (generally a positive for me), but there’s a real sense of humor as well, which is definitely more upfront in the below track, “To Be Young (Is To Be Sad, Is To Be High).”

Sleep well Maniacs! More martial arts madness is always on the way.
