The UFC’s October card in Singapore is starting to fill out.
The UFC is headed overseas to Singapore in October for a show, and while the main event between Demian Maia and Ben Askren is already set, not much of the rest of the card has trickled out yet. That changed a little bit today with the promotion announcing a bout between two ranked middleweights – Brad Tavares and Ian Heinisch.
Tavares (17-5, 12-5 UFC) hasn’t competed since July 2018, when he had a four-fight win streak stopped by current interim 185-pound champ Israel Adesanya. His only other loss dating back to 2015 came at the hands of the current full champ, Robert Whittaker.
Heinisch (13-2, 2-1 UFC) earned a UFC contract through the Contender Series and won his first two UFC bouts by decision, but was defeated by Derek Brunson in his last matchup in August.
Heinisch is currently ranked as the number ten contender at middleweight, while Tavares sits one behind him at 11.
UFC Singapore, also known as UFC Fight Night 162, is scheduled for October 26th in the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang.
