Pat CurranFollowing a shoulder injury that delayed his first meeting with lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez, Bellator Season Two Lightweight Tournament Champion Pat Curran (12-3) is 100% healthy and excited about finally getting the chance to fight for Bellator gold.

Curran will meet Alvarez this Saturday, April 2, at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut in the headliner for Bellator 39.

Curran earned the title shot after defeating Toby Imada in the season two tournament, and had been expected to meet Alvarez in season three at Bellator 33 but was replaced by Roger Huerta after the injury. Curran is currently riding a four fight win streak, which includes three season two tournament wins.

“After this fight people are definitely going to know who I am and they’re going to change how they think about me. I’m pretty confident in every one of my submissions. If I see it, I see it, and If I don’t I have other options. It’s an honor to get a chance to fight Eddie for the lightweight title. I’ve been waiting for this a long time. It’s in my thoughts all day long. It’s in my dreams. I’m very anxious and excited.”
