Donald Cerrone will look to get back into the win column this Saturday night (Sept. 14, 2019) at UFC Fight Night 158 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada when he takes on Justin Gaethje in a five-round Lightweight affair.
Prior to his defeat to Tony Ferguson due to a doctor’s stoppage, “Cowboy” was doing work, racking up three straight wins in both the Lightweight and Welterweight division. His last win came agaisnt Al Iaquinta, the hard-nosed brawler who never backs down and has wins over some of the best in the business, such as Jorge Masvidal and Kevin Lee.
The two men threw down in the main event of UFC Fight Night 151 on May 4 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and for five full rounds, the combatants gave fight fans what they were looking for, going toe-to-toe in what primarily a striking affair.
After 25 brutal minutes, Cerrone had done enough to earn the nod on all of the judges scorecards, as he clearly won the striking battle, though Al did get a few good licks in en route to winning “Fight of the Night” honors.
Now, Cerrone will look to start another win streak when he takes on the ever-aggressive Gaethje in what is sure-to-be a barn-burner of a scrap that will likely leave fans wanting more. With Justin’s tendency to keep pushing forward — which is right up Donald’s alley — the fight has all the makings of an instant classic.
