Yair Rodriguez threw a temper tantrum at Michael Bisping in the moments leading up to his post-fight interview at UFC Fight Night 159.
Yair Rodriguez was furious with the anticlimactic result of his headlining featherweight bout with Jeremy Stephens at UFC Fight Night Mexico City, and the 26-year-old tried to take out his frustrations on retried UFC veteran Michael Bisping.
Rodriguez’ long awaited return to the UFC against Stephens was declared a No Contest after ‘El Pantera’ landed a fight-ending eye poke on ‘Lil Heathen’ just fifteen seconds into the opening round. Stephens was unable to open his left eye during the five-minute recovery period and veteran referee Herb Dean was left no choice but to stop the action.
Fans at Mexico City Arena were outraged by the result, as they pelted the Octagon — and Jeremy Stephens — with bottles of beer after realizing Stephens would be unable to continue.
Rodriguez was asked to give his thoughts on the verdict in the UFC Fight Night 159 post-fight interview but, just moments prior to that, the Mexican-born fighter lashed out at ‘The Count’ before coming to his senses and realizing who it was.

Following the bout, Stephens called for an immediate rematch with Rodriguez and revealed that he had suffered a ‘deep scratch’ and ‘deep bruise’ to his left eye.
