Check out the fight card and bout order for Saturday’s Bellator 228: Pitbull vs. Archuleta event in Inglewood, California.
September 28th is a huge day for combat sports, as you not only have the UFC’s debut show in Copenhagen, but also Errol Spence vs. Shawn Porter, as well as Bellator 228. There are two Bellator shows this week, with Bellator 227/Dublin happening on Friday, but 228 is the one that is the biggie.
In the main event, simultaneous two-division champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire defends his featherweight title against Juan Archuleta in what doubles as the opening round of the Bellator featherweight grand prix. The co-main event is a middleweight rematch between Lyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi, as Mousasi looks to even the score with Lyoto following his 2014 five-round decision loss.
The rest of the Bellator FW tournament opening round populates the rest of the main card, as A.J. McKee battles Georgi Karakhanyan, former bantamweight king Darrion Caldwell takes on Henry Corrales, and Daniel Weichel fights Saul Rogers. Incidentally, McKee’s father Antonio is on the prelims, so it’s a father-son night for the McKees.
